Step 1. U nlock the socket by lifting the lever up to a 90
o
a ngle.
Step 2. Position the CPU directly above the socket such that its marked corner
matches the ba se of the socket lever.
Step 3. Carefully in sert the CPU into the socket until it f its in pla ce.
The CPU fits only in one corre ct orientation. D O N O T f orce the
CPU into the socket to avoid bending of the pins.
Step 4. When the CPU is in place, pre ss it f irmly on the socket while you push
down the socket lever to secure the CPU. The lever clicks on the side tab
to indicate that it is locked.

600 MHz and higher require larger he atsink a nd cooling fa n. Thermal gre ase
between the CPU and the heatsink is also needed to improve heat transfer.
M ake sure that the CPU a nd the heatsink are se curely fa stened and in good
contact with e ach other . Then connect the CPU fan to the CPU_FA N connec
tor (CPU_FAN1, see page 8, No. 5). For proper in stallation, ple ase kindly
refer to the instruction manuals of the CPU fan and heatsink vendors.
